Happy Friday and I hope your week has been productive!

I’m grabbing a moment to fill you in on some news that has propelled me, and subsequently the business, into an exciting new direction.

Last New Year’s Eve, whilst everyone was out enjoying what the night had to offer, I sat in a labour ward waiting for the arrival of my son.  As I sat there, excited and considerably terrified, I remember thinking what a crazy year 2014 will be.  I was right.

For me, 2014 has been a year of extreme growth, both personally and professionally, hugely challenging in trying to find the elusive work/life balance and yet all the time, incredibly exciting.  In business, I have had the opportunity to connect with many new clients, help existing clients grow and achieve their own goals and I’ve met some amazing new people.

A particularly rewarding project that I’ve continued to work on is web development and digital strategy for the aid organisation, Destiny Rescue.  Destiny Rescue exists to protect underage girls and boys from the sex industry. They have a wealth of rescue and prevention programs and carry out their work in six countries including, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, India & Philippines.

Over the past 3 years I’ve been able to help guide Destiny Rescue’s digital presence through periods of steady growth and as such, they have recently offered me a 12-18 month volunteer contract to work from their Thailand office on digital implementation strategy.   After some heavy consideration, I’ve decided to accept this role and relocate my business and family to Thailand for the duration of the contract.

While I don’t expect this placement to have any significant impact on my current clients, I would like to outline how my services to you will be affected.

I will still be available to existing clients for support relating to existing work, particularly where a support agreement has been established or a care package has been purchased.

As for new projects and additional work on completed projects, after finalising outstanding work I will only be taking on work selectively as time allows, however, once I am back in Australia it will be business as usual.

My web hosting service will still operate as normal.  I have a fully managed service with my upstream hosting provider Web24, so I do not anticipate that any changes or interruptions will occur. Myself, and a team of network professionals from the States will maintain continuous monitoring of the service and should any issues occur, the team at Web24 will be quick to respond.

I will still be contactable from 11am – 7pm Monday – Friday on email and Skype.  

Thailand is 4 hours behind Australia during daylight savings and 3 hours when not.

I will also have an Australian phone number to contact me on should you require support with existing work or technical issues. This number will be provisioned shortly, so I can provide it on request.

So as you can see, 2014 has been exciting, scary and a period of massive change for me both personally and professionally and throughout I have appreciated your support and positive input. While 2015 holds new adventures and challenges, I hope that upon my return I will have have another opportunity to work with you to help you continue to grow your digital profile.
